Nicest-Of the few I've visited, I have to say SMU or Tulane. Both just struck me as nice places, especially SMU(I really like the red brick, unlike some other people).

Ugliest-TCU. Its not UGLY, persay, but it reminds me way too much of my high school, architechturally. And UTD is just...sad.

"Most art school campuses are ugly or nonexistent. This sucks since art students are probably the ones who would appreciate beautiful gothic architecture and such the most!"

haha, too bad when beautiful old colleges were built, they didn't offer art as a major, so artists didn't even go to school.

A lot of art school "campuses" are nothing more than commercial buildings and storefronts. However, a lot of them are in great cities, so I suppose that kinda makes up for it.

"Pristine" is definitely a good word for UConn. They do an amazing job when it comes to keeping that place clean and well-maintained. I was actually just talking with someone about that yesterday or the day before. :)

I can only speak for Virginia...............

William and Mary, just feels like "college", BEAUTIFUL!!!
University of Mary Washington
University of Richmond
University of Virginia
Washington and Lee

MOST BEAUTIFUL: STANFORD is gorgeous. 8,200 acres all to its self. 2nd largest campus in the world behind u of moscow. it's green everywhere with tons of trees and great spanish style buildings.

rice is ok. not ugly but not anywhere near stanford.

UGLIEST: ut austin isnt one of the ugliest, but for being so well known its pretty sad. ut dallas is worse than some high schools. stevens institute of technology is ugly, except for its view of manhattan.

well, I don't think all 8,200 acres is made of up school. Stanford owns a lot of land that they have housing on, and that they rent out to different things around palo alto.

true true. all those acre's include the medical school, hospital, horse stables and farm, the lake, and other stuff. but even if you give the actual campus only 10% of that (and i'm pretty its more than 10%), that's still 820 acres!! wake forest is only 300 acres, and that includes everything, even the sport complexes.

Best: Berkeley (theres a lot of buildings of different styles--something new to look at everywhere), Baylor (very traditional college feel), Rice (nice, but beware humidty...but its worth it! The foyer/atrrium to the physical sciences building is entertaining), UCLA (its all very similar, but nice) and Stanford (wow! youll need a bike, but its really pretty, i saw a raccoon while i was there)

I'm a Harvey Mudd student, and I LOVE it here, but I must confess up: our campus is pretty ugly comparatively speaking. But it grows on me, and it is the people here that make it worthwile despite the less than impressive architecture.

Being a Claremont Colleges student, I think I can reasonably well say also that Pomona College and Scripps College both have very beautiful campuses.

My mom lived out in Indiana for about a year and lived sort of on campus at IU-Bloomington (not a student though) and she said that it is an amazingly beautiful campus... And that was 30 years ago. I can't image how much better it looks today
