Uh.. how bad will not having an interview be?

I never knew that it had to be on campus and looked in late november. I am too busy and there is no way I would of been able to fit it in. How bad will this affect me?

It does not have to be on campus, unless you live near by. But now it might be too late to schedule off-campus interview.

It depends where you live. If you live within, say, 100 miles of Swarthmore and didn't interview on campus, or at least try to set up an alumni interview, it might be viewed negatively. If you do not live close to Swarthmore it should not have any impact at all. You can always try to set up an alumni interview. They will be doing alumni interviews until early January.

well i live about... 4 hours away. Maybe 300 miles. And see the dumb part is... i went to tour penn a couple weeks ago and hadn't done research into swarthmore then. I am so dumb.

So ask for an alumni interview. If you can't get one at least you asked, and the college will not expect you to come 300 miles for an on-campus interview.

Don't worry too much about it. I didn't have an interview and I'm currently working through the end of my first semester. I also know some other people who didn't have interviews and ended up here.

ya I asked for one though on december 1st (off campus).

ahhHH!!! I DIDNT EVEN REQUEST ONE! is THAT really bad?

Are you local?

I don't think it will necessarily hurt you that much - a girl from my school got in last year without an interview, and we're very local, although she was a URM - but interviews and essays are really the only things that'll bring life into your app. :]

i live in MA, but i am sure there are alum around here.
