A friend of mine broke his/her ED-II contract with a .. school who I won't mention, and he/she was accepted to UCLA. Our school has a good relationship with the college at hand, so what happens now? I mean, he/she did break the contract, so..

This seems a selfish gesture on the part of the student, who probably knew all along that for the money he/she would go to UCLA if admitted. In theory, this can tinge the relationship between your school and the college in the near future, especially for ED.

Of course, there are always situations where people's finances abruptly change, for example, but barring this-- the student really hasn't helped anyone but him/herself.

His/Her finances haven't changed, and I know it wasn't the Finaid that was the breaker -- he/she received nearly $38,000 (out of $42,000) in grants!
