I am expecting number of A, R and WL remain same as previous years as number of seats hasn’t changed. Because number of applications have increased, acceptance rate would dip but yield rate would remain similar to previous years. This is my simple math.
I think scholarships and finacial aid info comes in March
From the grapevine isnt there something like 45k+ applications. I could be completely wrong.
Since students are applying to more colleges, does it make sense to assume lower yield across the board? Maybe they will leverage the WL.
How does that compare to last year?
that would impact Acceptance Rate only, but out of all acceptances only certain percentages would accept the admission, so students may have more admissions but at the end of the day they can commit to one school only, thus protects the yield rate for a school, but acceptance rate is going to skewed by just sheer number of applications.
You’ll need to login to the portal to see your decision.
This is not necessarily true. Many students who are admitted are also waiting for the Ivy Leagues and other schools. As they accept spots at other schools someone on the waitlist has the potential to move up. Because anything goes this year, I would not count yourself out just because you’re on a waitlist decision. It’s not the same as a waitlist at a school like UNC that already did EA decisions and waitlist people but haven’t done RD decisions. This is all decisions at one time.
Hey guys so I applied to UIUC on 13th November via coalition. They only had one deadline which was jan 5th (RD). Am I still considered an EA applicant as I applied before 15th NOV as I couldn’t find an option for EA on coalition.
I had asked this question to one of the admissions officers. Yes, you are an EA applicant as there is no such option on Coalition.
Thanks a lot and don’t mind my username I got rejected from Gtech (international cries in the background) so UIUC is my new first priority :’(
I got rejected too haha. But it wasn’t my first choice so that’s okay
Is that indicator of the Admitted Student Checklist true?
The link which is floating in Reddit
What checklist are you talking about?
I tried accessing the admitted students checklist for UIUC, something that admitted students last year had access to before their decisions came out, and it looks as though that I’ve been rejected. Can someone let me know if someone sees something different?
Steps:
- Log in to your UIUC Account
- Navigate to myIllini from your browser tab, you will not see it linked
Right now, I see
We’re Sorry. Our records indicate you are not eligible to log in to the Admitted Student Checklist. If you have questions, contact Undergraduate Admissions at 217.333.0302 or [admissions@illinois.edu](mailto:admissions@illinois.edu).
The above is from Reddit.
