I have been waitlisted (engineering) for Cornell, CMU (Priority wait list), and Georgia Tech while being accepted to UIUC, University of Maryland, University of Wisconsin, ASU, RPI and Rose Hulman Institute of Technology. I am having a tough time deciding between the colleges that I am accepted to. Should I get accepted to any of the waitlisted colleges, I would most likely accept that college. Please provide any input.
I think you need to list some pros and cons, costs, preferences, etc. UIUC ranks higher than Cornell and at the same level as CMU for engineering.
How can I edit my original post to add this information?
Net price at each school?
Which specific engineering major(s) are you interested in, and which have you been admitted to at each school?
Be aware that it can be difficult to change to a different engineering major at UIUC, and that Wisconsin has progression requirements that can require earning a 3.5 technical college GPA to stay in some engineering majors.
Did you get into the same major at all universities?
What’s your net cost at each? If you list it* next to each university we can estimate value.
*(tuition fees room board) - (scholarships, grants) =$…
To clarify further, I am interested in undergraduate research with a focus on robotics/mechatronics (applied and accepted major is mechanical engineering ). I will be also doing a Masters degree in an engineering field. ASU, RPI and RHIT have provided scholarships. ASU is the least expensive (35K per year) and Wisconsin the most expensive (56K). I am from the East Coast.
Since Wisconsin is the most expensive, you can already cross it out since you have good choices that cost less. One down! Now, on to net costs.
nvm, I misread your post
Wisconsin is an easy elimination because it is the most expensive and weeds out ME majors who do not get a 3.2 technical and 3.0 overall college GPA: Freshman - College of Engineering - University of Wisconsin-Madison
