UIUC vs Wisconsin-Madison for Chemical Engineering

Which school should I attend for undergraduate Chemical Engineering if the decision is based on academics and excludes factors such as location, cost, fit, etc.? I have been accepted by both and this decision has been difficult. Thank you!

Both have excellent chem e programs. Great options. IMO, they are very comparable academically. Perhaps ask in the college specific forums.

Both are great schools, but Illinois may be a tad better. However, as the previous user said, they are very comparable schools so I think taking the other factors that you mentioned into account may help you make your final decision.

UIUC. But uw would be nearly as good academically and in my experience a really upbeat school with loads of spirit. It’s wisconsin. Everyone’s nice up there

Wisconsin chemical engineering weeds out students who do not earn a 3.5 technical and 3.0 overall GPA in the first few semesters.

UIUC chemical engineering has a lower weed out standard of 2.5 GPA, though it must be maintained until graduation.
