Which one is harder to get into for an OOS?

Which one is more number based?

ALL of my friends that I know here at UIUC got into UW... but most of my friends that I know at UW..didn't get into UIUC..so you decide which one is harder (Me and most of my friends are OOS)

does it depend what school you apply for within the college? could someone explain in depth, this is haunting me.

thanks

They all are in college of engineering..

just apply for both and see which you get into and then lets talk about which is better. its only..what $40? you dont have much to lose.

$40 and essays, btw. time is money

Do the math

^ clearly a retard.

Sorry, I have been to Urbana and Champaign. The cornfields are actually more attractive than the cities.

and you dont really see cornfields unless you are leaving champaign/urbana...

Or the campus. But it really was just a joke. Obviously UI lacks a sense of humor. But that's what happens when you put thousands of North Shore strivers together in one place.

obviously you lack a sense of humor because you aren't funny at all...

Both are great schools which is why it's silly to argue about them. But come on, everyone makes fun of UI being in the cornfields. It's an old joke in the Big 10 and I have been around the Big Ten since it only had 10 teams.

all comments aside... uiuc and wisconsin were just recently ranked as tied for the same spot (UIUC went up), so it comes down to what major u want

Back to the sense of humor comment... A similar picture for Wisconsin would show a bunch of dairy cows standing out in field somewhere - not too funny and irrelevant to the University of Wisconsin.

Check out Larry Kanfer's photos if you want comparable views of the Illinois campus: http://www.kanfer.com/university2/index.htm. I don't see a lot of difference between the two campuses if you take away the Wisconsin pictures with Lake Monona in them. They're both attractive places to go to school in their own way.

"if you take away the Wisconsin pictures with Lake Monona in them. They're both attractive places to go to school in their own way."

Other than that, how did you enjoy the play Mrs Lincoln?

There's a reason people pay twice as much $$$ for homes with waterfront lots. The UW has the waterfront lot not to mention adjacency to a lively downtown.

Hey, not everyone cares about a waterfront home, and they wouldn't buy a waterfront shack if a mansion across the street is available at the same price.
My point is that both schools are attractive in their own right, and both offer excellent academics (in select areas) and a wide variety of activities outside the classroom. And my point is rather obvious, so if we can't reach common ground, there's no use in further discussion. The original poster needs to talk to people he/she knows who are familiar with these two schools.

I agreed that academically there is little significant difference. Given that, such things as the quality of the campus and environs can become a deciding factor. In that MOST people would agree that UW>>>UI. I had several good friends in grad school at UW who came from UI. They could not believe how much more lively, fun and scenic UW was compared with UI. Would it be worth the cost of OOS tuition, probably not unless you have lots of $$$.

as far as i can tell, UW and UIUC are the exact same school. to a T.

Only on the surface. UW has lots more OOS students. The sports and social scenes are much better. The campus is prettier and better located. UW is more liberal.
