<p>Not sure of number this year yet but last year 142 accepted a position on the waitlist and all were eventually offered admission.</p>
<p>If you go to the UIUC Admissions blogs with one of the admissions advisors, she answers this question. Like last year, UIUC offered about 1000 students to be on the waitlist - she said last year 267 students accepted the waitlist and all ended up getting admitted, but that this can change from year to year.
