<p>It may be worth calling up the Admissions Office at Stanford and asking them these questions – there aren’t a huge number of internationals on these boards.</p>
<p>how are your gcse’s? and do you have many extracurriculars? american universities tend to have a more holistic approach in the admissions process that uk universities. extracurriculars aren’t as important as grades, but they are a major part of the decision whereas they play a negligible part of the admissions process in the uk . and you should definitely hit up the admissions office. the people there are so helpful and nice</p>
<p>My son was accepted Stanford this year and he American, but went to boarding school in the UK.</p>
<p>SAT scores were very good (2200 in one sitting as a lower sixth former) as were his SAT 2 scores (several 790s). He did nine
GCSEs (9 A<em>s) and should have 5 A</em>s for A Levels. Did several clubs and went Stanford rowing camps (although he isn’t an athlete) and wrote nice essay. Above all, I think his
sincere desire to attend Stanford came through in his app. Hope this helps.</p>
