UK universities or Canadian Universities?

Hey guys, I’m a bit confused as to which country is better, UK or Canada. I want to major in Accounting/ Accounting and finance and I want to work part-time while I study. I’m currently studying in grade 12, in India. I’m mainly looking for cultural diversity, part-time work, excellent facilities, a good accomodation (not to cramped) and a great student life. And should be affordable as well.
I’ve made a final list of choices in both. Could you help me rank the UK universities I’ve chosen as well.

In Canada my choices are (in order of preference):

  1. University of Brtish Columbia
  2. University of Toronto
  3. McGull University
  4. McMaster University

In the UK my choices are (in no order):
Lancaster university
University of Bath
University of Edinburgh
University of Surrey
Herriot-Watt University
University of Warwick

If any of you been to these universities or know anything about them, I would love to hear what you have to say  Thank you!

Where do you want to work after you graduate?

@OrchidBloom preferably UK or Australia

I’d say Warwick and Edinburgh are the best UK choices, then Surrey and HW, then Bath and Lancaster.

If you’re an Indian citizen only, you’ll only be allowed to work max 20 hours a week in term time

I would definitely go with a school in the UK then! I’m not too familiar with UK schools, so I’m afraid I can’t comment too much on which one.

Have you considered uni in Australia?

@Conformist1688 Thanks for the ranking, appreciate it. Do you know if international students find it easy to get a job after graduation?
@OrchidBloom Yeah I think UK is the best option as of now
@MidwestDad3 Haven’t heard much about uni in Australia… could you tell me about it, if you don’t mind?

In India?

In Canada:

UT
UBC
McGill
McMaster

Mostly it depends on the external QOL factors for the top3. UT and McGill are urban campuses. Toronto has a wonderful cultural opportunities and an immense immigrant population. McGill in Montreal has a wonderful french flavor. UBC is all about outdoor activities - hiking, biking, etc. and is in a small town.

I don’t know what the job market is like for newly qualified accountants, but I know it’s possible to get a work visa in such a post, so suspect it’s pretty good. An accountancy forum might be a better place to ask.

UBC is in Vancouver. There’s 2.4 million people in greater Vancouver. Not a small town.

Hi UBC is huge!! Vancouver is HUUGE! It has a Medical school, a Law faculty, major Scientiic research, Music, Theatre school, Engineering, Business school, Computer Science etc. The campus has over 51,000 students. When I went there the only activity I did outdoors was running from one building to another for class!

Accounting in Canada? Add York Schulich too… perhaps even over McMaster DeGroote.
