So I’m not really a traditional student. I did go to Eastern Michigan right out of high school but I wasn’t ready at all for college and I ended up dropping all my classes both semesters. The next year I went to Washtenaw CC and halfway through the fall semester my mom passed away. I did get that semester expunged, but at that point I should’ve taken a break from school to get my head right; I didn’t, and got really spotty grades (lots of Ws and Fs, about as many As Bs and Cs).
Since then I’ve been on quite the upward trend with about 3 or 4 semesters of somewhere around a 3.1 GPA (my last one was about a 3.25). I’ve retaken several classes, but now I’ve completed nearly all of the pre-computer-engineering classes possible, and quite a few gen eds.
I’ve applied to UM-Dearborn for computer engineering for next semester, and I plan on transferring to UM-AA as soon as I can. Does anyone have any idea if that’s even possible with my grade history? Let’s assume that something clicks before I go to Dearborn and I get like a 3.9 for whatever number of ssmesrsds it would take.
I’m aware that success at UM is highly unlikely with my history. I’m open to staying at Dearborn (when I get in, which is either winter 18 or fall 18), but if there’s any possibility I can get to AA without wasting too many credits, then I’m going to.
P.S. I’m open to any and all suggestions.
Thanks in advance!!
