um...too early?

is freshman too early to have decided on acollege and try to work at getting in?

Yes and no. It's good to have goals, but don't be heartbroken if you don't get in. As long as you don't get into the mentality that "I have to go to X school or the world will end," it is ok.
Just make sure you work hard enough in HS so that you're a competitive applicant wherever you want to go. Also, make sure you compile a list of schools (other than your #1) at which you'd be happy. This is more of a concern late Jr. /Sr. year though.
Just do everything in your power to make yourself a good applicant, and you'll be fine.

Good luck!

i agree w/ vesh. just make sure that you aren't too specific when you start out, because you're ideas about the college you want to go to may change.
in regards to trying to work at getting in, it's never too early. work hard early, take an satII for you're science, get involved in some clubs, because remember, a lot of schools count freshman year.

Alright, thanks guys!i'll make sure to scope out a few more!

I'll second those above me and add on to the sat2 comments.

Take them soon, and at the end of a subject you love/are really good in so that when fall of senior year rolls around you won't be panicking when you realize your favorite school requires 3, and you don't remember anything from sophomore biology. (I took bio e/m in 10th grade to avoid that)

oh, and is it possible to take those tests at the end of THIS year? my honors classes are all sophmore classes really...

You can if you want, but make sure you prep for them.

Take it easy little buddy! And don't spend too much time on this site! It's full of wackjobs (like me!).
