@bsyeda2 “under review” probably doesn’t mean anything. I’ve had under review since I applied (I think). Besides, if they are planning to send out decisions by mid-March, all of their decisions should have been made by now.
@pypy1112371 …Well you could be wrong. I applied EA (Application Completed on November 1st) and I’m still waiting for my decision(it’s stuck on under review). It has been really frustrating. I emailed the admissions office to know whether there was a problem with my application, but that isn’t the case. Admissions are quite competitive this year. It’s funny that I applied at NCSU and UB-SUNY for regular decision and I received speedy acceptances from them but I’m still waiting for UMass. I don’t think they really want me, and my stats are more than just decent in my opinion.
Actually, decisions are probably made STARTING mid-March. I applied EA and got in on December 16 (that was the day they accepted CHC kids). I have friends who didn’t hear till mid January. They’ll send an email when they’re getting ready to release decisions, I’m sure. That’s what happened with EA. Here was my notification about dates, then my decision notification. I wouldn’t be surprised if it looked something like this:
Good luck!
@csAdvocate if I got a 5 on AP Calc BC and a 4 or APCS to skip Math 131/2 and CS 121, will I only need to get a B+ on CS 187 and a 3.0 overall to get into the major?
My D’s portal was updated overnight–she’s in! Yay! CAS, Political Science major. 3.67 GPA, 1270 SAT.
My friends’ portal was updated as well:
one was accepted to CS w/ CHC and a 2k deans scholarship. 1550 SAT, 35 ACT, Super high GPA. 3/58 Class Rank.
one was accepted to Music. No chc or scholarship. No financial aid yet. 1290 SAT, Salutorian, 4.5 or something like that.
I think me too?! When I log in it says I’ve been admitted, but when I click “application status check” it says i’m still under review.
3.6 uw, 35 act, oos (for compsci)
@Faultystart after you log in to SPIRE, there should be a button on the main splash page that says “View Admissions Decisions” (to the left of the “Application Status Check” link). If you click on that it takes you to another page with a “View” button–make sure your pop-up blockers are off and then click that “View” button.
@klinska ahhh thank you!!! i didn’t have pop ups enabled.
surprised to see i got the chancellor’s award–wasn’t expecting that!
I got into CS as well!
In state, 3.69 UW, 4.22 W, 1370 on SAT (740 Math, 630 English), lots of STEM oriented ECs.
I was accepted into the Isenburg School of Management with the Chancellor’s scholarship ($14,000/year) 4.08 W GPA, 1520 SAT (750 math, 770 english), good EC’s, 4 APs.
There was no mention of the honors college, so does that mean I didn’t get in, or will those decisions come out later?
^^ something i’m also wondering about
@oxyself In exploratory track they will probably let you skip both math classes, but recently when I talked to the dean of the college he mentioned that they highly recommend you take the CS 121 class as an exploratory student. CS 187 is a weed out class so jumping right to it may result in not doing as well.
Idk how to enable pop ups. I’m using iPhone. Can anyone help?
I enabled pop ups for Safari and logged in there but nothing popped up…just says under review does that mean no decision yet?
Mine also just says “under review” still, but I would assume that they’ve already made a decision for everyone. It seems like the online notifications are just coming out in waves. i don’t think they’d still be considering people this late in March.
Those of you who were admitted but still see “under review” on your application status page-- where does it say that you’ve been admitted?
Honors college decisions will appear right above admissions decisions if you are invited
Those of you who are seeing “under review”–are you seeing that under “application status check”? Don’t go there. There should be a welcome message on the admissions center page (the page you see right after you log on and where the application status check link is). If your decision is in, you should see a button on the left side of the page that says “view admissions decisions”–click that and another page will open with a “view” button–you need to have pop-ups enabled in order to see the letter. If you don’t have that “view admissions decisions” button on the main page, then your decision isn’t in yet.
@hannahb26 you would think that, but the past couple of years some people were hearing very, very late (like late April). I was all prepared to not hear for another month, so was very pleasantly surprised my D got her decision on the early side (at least based on when they said decisions would be released for RD applicants). Maybe they’ve made some improvements in the Admissions office this year and everyone will hear in a timely fashion.
