UMass Amherst Class of 2025 Early Action

For what?

Many EA’s still have not come out!

oh alright. Thought I was the only one.

Early Action admission decision

Early Action for Computer Science.

Still waiting.

I am wondering if any in state families would mind sharing if they received more than a 2,000 merit award.

Does anyone have any psychic premonitions as to when they will actually release the remainder of the early action decisions?

They said by January 31st

My daughter got $16,000 I believe (Pitt just offered $5000 so it’s the first one to go).

And you are in state MA residents? Wow, congratulations!

No, OOS, NJ.

Thanks. My specific question is whether anyone who is an in-state MA resident has received more than a 2,000 award. I know the OOS people get the 8-10-12-16,000 awards.

My daughter is a junior nursing major at Fairfield University. She received the Magis Scholarship that, combined with the offered grant money, made the school relatively affordable. Though Fairfield had the most expensive list price of all the private schools she applied to, it wound up with the lowest actual out of pocket cost.

I haven’t seen anyone post more than $2000 for in-state. My daughter got $2000

What other schools was your daughter deciding from?

I did as well. I think there is also an MCAS scholarship that you can receive if you meet certain criteria.

Decision up. Denied conputer Science

yep, me too denied for CS

We are Instate and my my D got $2000 only she got $20,000 from Pitt though.

My daughter had also received acceptances to the nursing programs at Endicott, Salve Regina, and Saint Anselm. (She didn’t apply to UMass Amherst…though she now questions why didn’t). One thing you want to look at closely are the additional nursing fees for each of the schools (something not factored in when applying for financial aid). Not only did Fairfield offer us the lowest net price (around 31,500 freshman year) but their nursing fees were the lowest as well. Fairfield’s nursing fees are under $500 per year meanwhile some of the other programs have increasing fees each year that go as high as an additional $3000! Be sure to add in the additional nursing fees when comparing all of the final offers for sure. She’s had great clinical placements so far. This semester she will be completing her Med-Surg I placement at Yale New Haven Hospital and her Maternal and Newborn Health placement at Greenwich Hospital. Program is very rigorous…but the nursing faculty are very warm and supportive.
