Any comments or helpful information for someone choosing between these two schools for a BA in theater.
UMass - my nephew attended for theatre, then changed over to writing, but he loved it and was in some fine productions. Amherst is out near Williamstown Theatre Festival (lots of NYC people come here to workshop plays). Also UMass participates in the Five Colleges Consortium where students can take classes at Amherst, Mount Holyoke, Hampshire, and Smith Colleges. The area is a great place for college kids! UNH - I don’t have any knowledge, but I know others who were impressed with the theatre program there.
Thanks for your helpful response. Do you have any idea how difficult it is to get into shows at UMass? How was the writing? That’s also an interest.
^^I don’t know about the casting process at UMass. He enjoyed the writing program, too. Now he is actually in a band - he’s all over the place! Love creative people!
