UMass Amherst out of state merit

I live in NH and my daughter is interested in the comparative literature program at UMass Amherst, which qualifies for a tuition reduction of about $7k because it’s not offered at UNH. I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of merit scholarships, if any, might be offered to a NH resident who is already getting a break because of the reciprocity agreement.

She’s in the top 3% of her class at a public high school. Just took the SAT, so don’t know the score, but she got 1360 on PSAT and did some private tutoring prep to prepare. Thinking she will be 14??. Doesn’t do sports. Does do various clubs and volunteering. NHS. Has a couple of nice academic achievements. State champs in We the People, 2nd place in state in Academic World Quest.

Hi- the merit scholarships are based solely on academics. My son, from RI was offered $14k/year. However, we were told if he switched his major into one that would give him the reduced NE rate, his scholarship would be cut in half.

Thank you. That is exactly the answer I was looking for. That means UMass Amherst would be about $60k more than UNH for our daughter. It’s a better school, for sure, but it’ll be a tough call if it comes down to those 2 options.
