UMass Amherst vs UW-Wisconsin

I have Undergraduate admission offer from UMass Amherst and UW-Madison as International Student in computer.
UMass offered 14,000 USD tuition grant also. Internship, learning and future opportunity and quick/easy social integration is very important criteria.

Which University should I accept? Please please help…

I personally prefer UMass Amherst and the surrounding area compared with UWMadison. Both are excellent schools. UWMadison probably has the higher ranking. That may be a big consideration for you. For me, that doesn’t offset some of the problems with living in Wisconsin. Having spent a lot of time there, it can feel isolated compared with UMass Amherst area.

I preferr UMass Amherst because it has access to the other colleges in the area, too – Smith, Amherst, Mt. Holyoke. You can take classes at any of those schools. The arts and atmosphere of the area is better, to my mind, and the food at UMass Amherst is some of the best in the country. (https://www.umass.edu/newsoffice/article/umass-amherst-ranks-no-1-campus-dining ) The weather in Wisconsin is some of the harshest, while in UMass area, it snows and gets cold, definitely, but the winters are on average more mild than in Wisconsin. Wisconsin is flat farmland. The UMass area is beautiful, has access to various mountain ranges, for hiking nearby and skiing in Vermont (which is fairly close). UMass Amherst area is in the outer fringes of both Boston and NYC cultural influence. You will find people from both of those major metropolitan areas. This is good for networking and for getting rides to these cities for fun and culture. Wisconsin’s major city nearby is Chicago – a great city to be sure with lots of art and culture, too.

Both schools will be excellent in computer science. Are both schools affordable? If not, Umass may bet the answer. Have you toured both schools? Which one feels more like home?

You need to tour both schools to get a better idea. umass has a nice college town and UW is in a city. UW has the sports and school spirit. UW has a bigger party scene, but you will get a party scene at Umass too.
