<p>Does anyone know when and how we select where we want to dorm and stuff like that? I'm a little confused on this. Thank you!</p>

<p>When I did it (2 years ago, so may have changed), you could either fill out a form online at some point before orientations started, or you can wait until your orientation to be crammed into a small room with lots of other people to fill out a paper application.</p>
<p>You should probably ask <a href=“https://www.facebook.com/LivingAtUMass[/url]”>https://www.facebook.com/LivingAtUMass</a> for up to date info. They are actually really good at replying to questions on their FB in a timely manner.</p>
<p>i believe there’s an opportunity to express a preference at the orientation session. are you doing one of those?</p>
<p>There are two major strategies - RAPs or the general NSO process. Here is the info for RAPs - some may be full by now. You have to do this before you attend NSO</p>

<p>If you don’t go thru the RAP process I believe they will make sure you fill out preference info during NSO and then let you know your assignment in August via SPIRE. More info here</p>

<p>You can get answers to most usual questions on the UMass web site but it does require spending a little time to learn how to navigate it. Also be sure to get your UMass email set up as early as possible since they do send out information over the summer and that is the main way they communicate other than notifications in SPIRE</p>
