UMD Spring 2018 Transfer Decision

Does anyone know a specific date for when the decision comes out? They say mid-October on the site but what does that really mean?

@nervousfortulane pretty sure it should be sometime around the 12th or 13th, based on when previous year’s decisions went out. seems like it’s usually a Thursday or Friday

@split1997 ahhh thank you! I’ve been really stressed about this so your answer makes me feel a lot better.

@nervousfortulane yeah, i know a couple of people who applied for this fall and they said that their priority decision came about a week late so I’m hoping that doesn’t happen. it’s already been too long

hey guys! I’m a current Maryland student who transferred here last semester. If any girl is looking to get on campus, please let me know! Am subleasing the best apartment complex for transfers by far.

I really hope that the decision will come out this Monday!

Anyone get a response?

@JkSmRo8 The decisions have not been released yet. Based off of the admissions office has told people that have called them, Wednesday-Friday is most likely the decision window.

I got my decision!

I got denied but i’m an MTAP participant. I thought being in MTAP guaranteed admission?

Did you get in? @JkSmRo8 What are your stats?

@EconDon23 yeah I got in! I’m transferring from Montgomery College.
My stats are:
-3.77 GPA
-44 credits completed (Finishing 16 this Fall semester)
-Was part of the MTAP and met all their requirements
-No recommendation letters
I was pretty nervous about not getting in because UMD was the only school I applied to transfer to and not getting in would result in me staying one more semester at MC for one class.

@JkSmRo8 I got accepted from Montgomery College, too!

In case anyone wants more stats to refer to, I was accepted with:

  • 3.77 GPA

-13 Credits completed

-Not part of MTAP

-United States Navy veteran (honorable discharge)

-Recommendation letters from my military supervisors.

-I completed the admissions essay that isn’t required for transfer students (it can really help, I recommend doing it, anyways)

-Hispanic male, 23 years old

Did you get your decision yet?

Has anyone received their decision yet? I was told I would be getting it today, but I haven’t seen anything. Also, will the results be on the coalition website too? Or are they just mailing it to your address?

I received two emails from UMD in December asking me to apply for financial aid (FAFSA) and sending the UMD FAFSA code. Not sure if this means I’m accepted? I submitted my application in regular deadline.

I got the FAFSA emails as well, but still haven’t heard anything about acceptance/rejection. I’ve been hoping I’ll hear back today… from what I’ve seen, emails usually come out around 4:45-6pm. If I don’t hear back today, I’ll give them a call. It’s past mid December, some people have already heard back, and I’d really like to start planning my life

@fawadA and @LaceFaceM they are closed today until January 2nd so I am not sure if you’ll hear back before the new year. A lot of the offices closed on Wednesday. I had tried contacting people to get paperwork done this week, and only got one thing done. When I did hear, I heard something at 5:40. So maybe you’ll hear something in the next few minutes.

I’ve been getting the emails for FAFSA as well. I really hope to hear from them today because i have to let my loan company know or the loan won’t go through

Thanks @adorse26
Still nothing :frowning: I’m more than a little annoyed that they would say the responses would be out by mid December and only put out half of them. If we have to wait until January, that’s very little time for planning. I’m using my GI bill and the paperwork takes forever to go through, and classes at my backup school start early January so either way I’m pretty screwed.
