UMD Transfer 2016 Fall

If admitted I fully plan on taking off work, getting some pizza, a pint of Ben and Jerry’s, and the Star Wars box set on Blu Ray and marathon watching it all day.

@econgeekumd Now that’s what I’m talking about!

For the 2016 spring term, decisions were released on December 25, which was a Thursday. And that was considered mid- December for admissions.

I just called the office again, but the good news is this time, they told me they are trying to shoot for the 15th to have all decisions release by then. Maybe well get it this week

Correspondence of a number of people with the dep. of admissions has resulted in a “very soon” response. Common sense tells me the 25th of this month doesn’t qualify as very soon. Thanks for the heads up, though.

Has anybody gotten the housing glitch yet

Not yet, do you know if it comes in an email or just on the portal?

No idea, I was just hoping decisions would come out now because I’ll have to pay 800$ to cancel my housing for next semester if I get in now…

Does the $400 enrollment fee cover housing as well? or does it just save our place.

Pretty sure the latter.

100% sure. “This nonrefundable enrollment deposit will reserve your place in the incoming class and be applied to your tuition.”

What is the housing glitch?

@Bedcrumbs

Before decisions are released some people get the housing contract before and it’s a good sign that you’ve been accepted

The housing glitch is when some people can see an application for housing on their portal the day before or morning of the day when decisions are released. It shows up on the main page where the the application for admission, reenrollment, and lep are

Speaking of housing… I assume getting on-campus housing will be very unlikely. Where are most of you searching off campus?

I have a screenshot of what it looks like but not sure how to attach it

@JmColeman09 actually I spoke to someone at housing and she said she thinks there will be enough spots available, the only issue is how long people will be willing to wait because some offers might not be made until August

@emily2636 That’s really good to hear. Some of these off campus residence are very pricey. Having to wait untilAugust would be unlucky, but if it saves money it could be the way to go.

Hopefully we get on campus housing, lol I’m not ready to be paying rent just yet.
