Hi,
I am currently considering 4 schools (undergrad). I am thinking about doing business, so I applied for that at Muhlenberg and TCNJ, and as undecided at Maryland and Delaware. I got into:

-U Maryland College Park Scholars (admitted to Business, Society and Economy Scholars program; applied undecided to the school itself) (5k/yr scholarship)
-U Delaware Honors Program (10k/yr scholarship)
-Muhlenberg College (15k/yr scholarship)
-The College of New Jersey

I live in NJ: UMD is 3.5 hrs away, UD 1.5, Muhlenberg 1 hr 20 mins, TCNJ 20 mins
I would appreciate your opinions and some help in deciding! Thanks

You don’t say how much the cost of attendance figures into your thinking. That aside, I think you have to separate these four schools into two groups: large (UMD, UDel) and small (Muhlenberg, TCNJ) to decide which type of campus feels right for you. It’s like trying to compare apples to oranges. IMO, Muhlenberg and TCNJ are comparable in their feel and location so I would focus on what you know about their business program to decide between these two. As for UMD and UDel, you might look at the criteria for getting into their business schools if you do decide to pursue a business major, compare any extracurricular clubs or sports that interest you, access to religious services if that matters to you, the Greek scene, and off-campus opportunities for internships. By breaking it down into buckets, you’ll be able to see which best suits your needs.

If your question is which is the better school, I would say Maryland. That’s excluding cost, your preference re size, etc… My daughter looked at all those schools as well. Delaware is a popular school but frankly did not impress me. Muhlenberg is very pretty campus but just too tiny and also scholastically just ok. TCNY my wife and I really liked. Very pretty , warm feeling campus and good scholastically. My daughter did not want to go there as she wanted greater diversity in student body (its like 90 percent New Jersey). However Maryland generally, is the better of these schools scholastically. Its where she decided, also in the scholars program-media and undecided major.

Congratulations! That is funny because I also was accepted to those exact schools and eventually ended up at Maryland–primarily because of financial reasons. (I am a senior now) I even was considering TCNJ but it was a bit expensive for Out of State Residents. All I can say is you CAN’T make a bad decision bc they are all great schools…Before I get into a whole big write up can you private message me your current order of preference of the schools? Then I can give you some feedback…

TCNJ is an amazing school. It’s business program is excellent and job placement is great esp. for accounting and finance majors. TCNJ business school is best in the state and rising every year as well as the cost is great.
