UMich 8 Digit ID #

Hey, so I submitted my app about an hour ago. I got the confirmation from commonapp. com saying that I've successfully sent my supplements and the common app and paid. I still haven't gotten a confirmation from Michigan with my I.D.

My school mails the transcript and recommendations through regular mail, not email. Is this the reason I haven't gotten a confirmation from UM. Will I get it only when my mail arrives in a few days with the recs and transcript?

it took me 2 weeks to be able to log in that website with the ID

I got the ID right after the SAT scores were received by school.

the official representative said it would take at least 10 business days for the admission office to upload the application material and start your file… i received the U-M ID 2 days after the submission…
so… wait for a couple of days and check back again

I have a question everyone.

When do I have to sign up for Wolverine Access? (I can’t remember the actual name but it is something like that).

I sent my May SAT I score to UMich today so am I going to receive anything from them notifying me that they received my score?

A week or after you get your UM ID number which will come after they receive your application, you should be able to create a friend account and login to Wolverine Access.

You are not likely to receive email notification when they process your individual materials, but everything will be on WA in time.

I just got my confirmation email with the code. Thanks everyone.

Does it matter how early you send in the app. for EA? (early Oct. vs. mid oct vs. late oct)

I mean, if it takes 10 days to download and begin review of the file and if I sent mine in the last week of October, they would receive it by early November…I believe that this is fine, but would it be a disadvantage to send it so late? (relative to an early-mid Oct. app).

I want to take my time and write awesome essays.

Well… the earlier you send it in, the earlier they start processing it. Its rolling I think so the people that submitted their apps earliest and are liked by the App Committee get in faster than the ones that apply later
