UMich Clubs

What times do clubs usually meet? and also, how often?

Depends on the club....there's over a thousand of them...all different.

i see.....

yea what clubs are you guys joining in? also do they make your resume look better like they do in HS?

it depends on how involved you really are with the club

"also do they make your resume look better like they do in HS?"

wow

yeah.. forgetting that comment..

but anyways.. there's gotta be like a general time that clubs meet.. right? i really need to get a work-study job but i don't want that to prevent me from going to club meetings. and all of my classes are in the morning til early afternoon.

No general time that clubs meet.

Some of the clubs list how often they meet on the maize pages.

Well, some clubs may ask at the first meeting when is the time at which the most people could attend, and then make the future schedule based off of that. I was on one of the committees for Dance Marathon last year, and the committee I was on did this. However, this will not be true for all clubs at Michigan.

"wow"

ah...OK.

Obviously, if all clubs met at the same time, it would be difficult to join more than one. Haha.

could someone compile a list of clubs? I was wondering about seeing all that's offered and possibly starting my own club.....

are some of these inside jokes or something... I don't understand their intended purpose (from the name)

You can click on them and read what they're about...don't believe any are inside jokes as they probably have to be approved to be on that site...

They approve pretty much anything. The socratic club submitted a constitution that was supposed to be a joke and was baffled when it was approved.

"The Socratic Club has an indefinite number of officers, following the arbitrary whims and preferences of the ruling Triumvirate."

"Replacements in the Triumvirate are appointed by a process modelled after a mixture of Apostolic Succession and the appointment of Supreme Court Justices of the United States."

Umich clubs pwn. I heard they have a sword fighting club and a drumming club like stomp ^_^
