So did you find a pattern of the admission release?
Thank you so much!
omg are you going to join the recreational tennis team? i was thinking of joining and it would be great to know someone before then. also congrats!!
Did anyone apply to school of kinesiology?
Kinesiology here…finished my application super early and waiting forever right now haha
Ayy just got in 3PM PST for COE Mechanical Engineering
congrats! would you mind sharing your stats?
Accepted into COE just now
Mechanial Engineering
I think my application is finished really late, like 2/1
Stats:
Deferred, waitlisted, and rejected last year when I applied in high school
First Year college student. Enrolled at local community college and state university. Will have ~40 credits by the end of spring semester not counting my APs
4.35 weighted high school GPA
4.0 college GPA (Fall and Winter semester)
Out of state Asian Male
I would say my essays are alright. Pretty much just changed a few things from the essays I wrote last year
Activities: Design/CAD team lead in my robotics team, won regional awards, went to Africa with my team to teach local students about robotics, some volunteering, intern at local university, and some other that I don’t really remember
Letters of Recommendation: one from my calc 3 professor, one from my physics e&m professor, one from my econ professor, and one from a teaching assistant from my intern place.
Have we received any rejections yet, or has it been all acceptances?
That’s amazing, congrats!
There was a couple
i have no idea yet- i honestly haven’t picked up my racquet in months so it would be a bit rough lol. but maybe!
Accepted to LSA today, email received at 3:24 pm. It was the first weekday I didn’t refresh my portal (of course!) so I’m sorry I can’t be more specific.
- I am from an in-state CC, with 57 credits, not including my current courses.
- Physics major (though that doesn’t matter for LSA I don’t think.)
- 1st gen college student, white female
- 3.93 GPA (weighed down by one B from 2011), no idea what my HS GPA was… probably 3.95 but I believe they gave me F’s for the semester that I left (my junior year). 99th percentile GED scores.
- Non-traditional (gap in education ~7 yrs)
- 2 LOR - 1 (which I saw, from a prof I had for two for courses closely related to my major) was great, the other was presumably great from an English prof.
- Essays were creative and reflective… I love writing so I cannot score them. Certainly not my best. I barely answered the “reasons for transferring” prompt haha. I pretty much poured my heart out.
- No traditional ECs, though I had plenty in HS. I’d say my “spike” of interests and hobbies suits and complements my major well. I also work part-time.
A mini tangent in case there is anyone out there stalking these forums as I did several years ago:
I left high school (dropped out) due to illness and got my GED, despite being a great student prior. I also ended up dropping out of my first college for similar reasons. I beat myself up for years and felt like a total failure. It took me a while to get over it, “bite the bullet,” and go to community college. Community college has actually been great, and I think preferable to giant lecture halls for “weeder” courses graded on a curve. (Not to mention the cost difference for online classes during the pandemic…) Long story short: never ever ever give up! (Or surrender )
So happy to hear this story. Mine is very, very similar to yours. I have yet to receive a decision, but regardless, I am especially happy for you and your persistence. Congratulations and I bet you will do phenomenally at Michigan.
Thank you so much, that is so very kind . I hope you hear back soon, and best of luck to you!
Kines is just now asking for my current course enrollment. I turned in my app 2 months ago:(
wait that’s probably a good thing that they are asking, means they are considering you for admission right??
I don’t think so. Don’t they ask all transfer applicants for their current courses since they don’t show up on your transcript yet?
Dang, acceptances has really slowed down.
I emailed the admissions office before, like a long time ago, and they told me they would ask to see it if you are admissible
