I submitted mine the day before the deadline and was accepted on the 18th of Feb. and they didn’t ask me for any current courses. Actually, they didn’t ask anything. After submitting, the only contact was that my student portal was updated. Maybe it’s different for the college you applied to?
I hope we get some decisions tmrw
Admitted today at 12:01 pm to LSA.
Returning student, 36 years old, single full-time parent of a kindergartner. So many years off of school…
I attended U of M-Dearborn in the early 2000s, then for a few classes in 2015.
3.71 GPA, currently have 45 transferrable credits, will have 59 by the fall (taking a few classes to complete the LSA general distribution requirements in Winter and Summer at a community college).
Hoping to study in the Philosophy, Politics, and Economics program, though it is exclusive admissions, so that’s not 100%. Was a Philosophy major at UM-Dearborn.
Again, so happy to all of you who were admitted and so glad this is a positive place to talk. I wish you all the best of luck. This is such a dramatic and fulfilling moment for me - just a huge deal. A dream delayed by almost 20 years… So big.
Congratulations!!! I have been hoping to see you update. I know what you mean – just a tremendous sense of relief and fulfillment, despite knowing it’s “just undergrad” and there is so much more to life… (Hopefully you know what I mean! Of course it is still huge!) I’m very happy for you.
I know EXACTLY what you mean. And thank you. When I saw your story I was really so sincerely happy for you. Just a huge sense of fulfillment - future feels really wide open and bright. Feels like a piece of myself that was missing is present now. Thank you!
A BIG BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU, that is so awesome! You are such a fighter for staying determined to pursue your dream, I’m so happy for you! I hope to join you at UMich - crossing my fingers for my decision as well hahaha
I hope you’re there, too! And thank you for the kind words. I’m pulling for you and everyone else here.
And some totally unsolicited advice for anyone prowling this board - get involved early, reach out to people at the university in advance. I had a Transfer Recruiting Coordinator helping me the whole time (had a zoom meeting with him every 2-3 weeks or so) and had a dozen conversations with people at the University between Thanksgiving and when I submitted my application on 01/26/2021. Be active, get involved, get advice from everyone, and throw yourself into it.
Just got accepted this morning into LSA for Summer 2021 with major in economics.
Application submitted on 1/26, currently attending a big 10 school in Indiana as a freshman, will have over 60 credits by the end of spring 2021, about 50 will transfer to U of M.
ECs:
4 business case competitions during my freshman year in college, their focuses range from tackling gender inequality in the workforce to mergers & acquisitions advisory;
a mathematical modeling club that I co-founded back in high school;
1 library and 1 hospital internship I did during high school.
Essays are U of M specific, but they probably aren’t exceptional given that English isn’t my first language.
Out of State Asian Male, 15 y/o, first generation immigrant.
Hope y’all get your decisions soon. I really appreciate this thread as it helped me during the application process.
I feel like decisions are being released extra late this year
Do you know the pattern of the decision release?
I have no idea how it works
Hey all,
I applied as a transfer to LSA for Fall '21
I submitted my exam on December 29th and still haven’t heard anything back. I was wondering if anyone else was experiencing similar issues.
Stats:
College Freshman OOS
College GPA 4.0 36 credits complete, will be 52 by the end of the semester.
HS GPA 3.86UW, 4.03W
ACT: 34
EC: Attended my current school on a golf scholarship, decided I’d rather study at a bigger school. Captained the golf team throughout HS, NHS member, Club leader senior year.
Any help/feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
yep I submitted feb 1 for fall 21 still no response
Rejected:
Applied to Industrial Engineering & Operations
Stats:
First year student at a top 30 Uni
3.95 unweighted HS GPA
3.9 College GPA
So frustrated now
I’m so sorry you sound like you were a really strong applicant too, Umich is so weird with acceptances though. Maybe it had to do with how many credits you had?
60 credits at MSU after one year?
Anyone get any decisions in the past week?
I have yet to see any this week on any message board. Maybe I missed one or two. The only thing I received from the school was my instate tuition waiver acceptance. Which really threw me off for a second lol.
I know someone in-state that got an acceptance on Monday to CoE, but that’s pretty much it
why is michigan sending email about Fall Semester plans even before giving out decisions
