UMich Fall 2022 Transfer Thread

I get some news from AO that they told me absoultely I would get my decision in the middle of April. That is a…???????????

What school/major did you apply for?

Hi guys I was rejected from UMich for the fall of 2022 as a first-year student and so I updated the term on my application to Spring 2023 as a transfer. Is the first-year application the same as the transfer application or would I need to create a new application on August 1?

I just change my name and photo, I am that man who apply AAE

For the commonapp, you would need to create a new account for the transfer specific app but you can use the same email address.

As for the questions, there is a transfer personal statement essay but the prompts are similar (actually they may be the same) to the first year. There’s also a question (I think umich also uses it) which is basically a why transfer essay. And the UMich supplements for first years also apply to transfers. Btw, essays on the transfer app use character counts instead of word counts.

and umich says junior level transfers (60+ credits), or closer to Junior than sophomore, tend to be stronger applicants, so just keep that in mind but don’t get discouraged. Good luck :four_leaf_clover:!!

thank you guys so much!!!

Has anyone else not received a transfer credit evaluation yet? Or vice versa? My portal didn’t have anywhere to view a credit report, and I emailed them a week ago but haven’t gotten any response yet. Does it take some time for them to send the credit evaluation after releasing acceptances?

I see. Hear anything back yet? I’m having a feeling that engineering decisions are delayed. There were certainly record applicants for LSA this year, especially after Covid. Maybe engineering applications fell by the wayside?

I say this because it appears that most people without decisions applied to CoE.

I got into Mechanical Engineering! If anyone checks this forum anymore, it was a pleasure!

Am I allowed to apply to the spring half term?

dont believe so, im 99% positive you can only apply for the winter and fall semester, those half terms over the spring and summer are for students already there right now taking classes

Well guys, I was rejected from LSA after a long wait. Kinda messed up they pushed it this long, but I understand the application influx. Glad a lot of ppl here got in tho. Will re-apply next year.

international student admitted at 3/25
LSA
junior
GPA: 3.73/4
I tried my best to write the 4 essays which turns out to pay off : )

Don’t give up if it is what you want. Three times here before accepted.

Am I the only transfer who hasn’t heard back from Ross? Feels like it. They for the first time emailed me today asking for my unofficial, is that a good sign or bad?
