Is regular action rolling or non-rolling for Umich? Correct me if I'm wrong, hasn't Umich stopped with rolling admissions.

Also, does Umich accept Jan SAT?

-Thanks

UMich still uses rolling admission for regular decision applicants. And yes, considering the deadline for applying is February 1st, they will accept January SAT scores as long as you are quick in sending them to admissions.

Am I at a disadvantage if I send in my app on Jan 1 vs. Jan 31st?

An admissions counselor came to our school at the beginning of the year and when I talked to her she said they still have rolling admissions, but it’s a modified rolling admission process. They release the decisions in several batches during the regular action period. I don’t think you’re at too much of a disadvantage if you send your app in at the end rather than the beginning of the month, except that you’d probably be part of the last group that is notified of their decision.

No, you’re not. Rolling admissions applications are all considered equally, regardless of the date in which they’re submitted. If anything, submitting earlier would give you an advantage.

Oops, I meant the other way around- Jan 31st vs. Jan 1st. I wanted to know b/c of the Jan SAT- the earliest date that it would be available to schools is Feb 15th ish.

I keep hearing of horror stories about UMich’s rolling admission where top Ivy league students are rejected because of applying in January. It really worries me as I still haven’t finished my application and it’s my first choice.

Not sure on the merit of these stories but I hope it isn’t as bad as it seems…

@Pat- same here, I’m worried that if I apply later I’ll not get admitted for not applying earlier instead of being unqualified (which could also be the case)
