Hello,
I got into UMich LSA undecided and I am planning on studying business in the future. I got into Kelley at Indiana, Tulane business, Wisconsin business, and a few other schools. I know Michigan is the best of the bunch, but I am not sure I would be able to transfer into Ross. Do I take that chance or play it safe at a different school?
Transferring into Ross is difficult. I know a number of people who went to UM hoping to do an internal transfer to Ross and it didn’t work out. If you attend UM you should be prepared to stay in LSA. If you absolutely want to study business I’d go with one of your other options.
A Ross minor is also an option available to all UG’s.
Your best option might be to save money by going to the instate schools and then using that money for an MBA.
Congrats on being accepted to so many great schools!
Regarding Ross…is your decision final, or are their more Ross decisions still coming?
I agree that it will be tough to transfer into Ross…here are the recent stats: https://michiganross.umich.edu/undergraduate/bba/admissions/UM-applicants
One option could be to major in econ at Mich…one can still enter the business world that way. Look into how the career center works though…are you allowed to interview with the same companies/for the same positions that Ross students can? What if you did have a Ross minor, does that open up more interview opps?
What would you major in at IU, Tulane, or Wisc?
As of now, I would be undecided in LSA and most likely decide to major in Communications and Media with a minor in Business or possibly Econ although I don’t love math. At the other schools I am primarily a Marketing or Management major.
