@DryMango No, definitely not true.
@c011e9e decisions are still being made based on scores sent by applicants of the November Sat
@AlaBingo1234 is that only for students that indicated that they were taking it, or could a student send them in even if they didn’t indicate it on their app?
@c011e9e indicating that we will be taking an exam doesnt matter. It is considered if we send our scores regardless of what we write on the common app. Like i didnt indicate aboutnmy sat 2’s but did send them in Nov. And they do show up on my Wolverine Account
@AlaBingo1234 gotcha… I was just thinking that if a decision on an applicant is already made (even if it’s a deferral or rejection) they probably aren’t going to go back now and reconsider with the new scores. If they haven’t decided on an applicant yet, then yes it would make sense that they would consider it.
@insula Never hurts, send the information even if it’s the day before decisions are coming out. My 2nd semester grades are coming out on Monday and I am sending them. I figure if it doesn’t matter then it shows how serious I am for possible merit aid and if it does matter I will be happy I sent them.
That’s just my opinion.
My hail interview is on the 8th. Will it even make a difference at this point? Could my decision possibly be made alreadt?
Go blue
@thickmancollege of course it’s possible that a decision would have been made as that is just about a week out from when decisions go out… However, if there hasn’t been a decision yet, I’m sure it’ll help. And in the event of a deferral, it could help there too.
Just go shine at the interview
I was wondering if anyone could give their thoughts on what my admission chances are? I’m feeling very stressed and pessimistic about getting in since I am out of state and just want to know what other people think.

Your stats are pretty good, and you probably have a chance of getting in, but none of us are admissions officers so we would not be able to give you a definite answer.
And with decisions being released in less than two weeks it will probably be better to just sweat it out with the rest of us rather than having people with no real idea of your chances (because they’re so unpredicatable sometimes) stress you out more.
I’m sure it’ll work out, you have good stats
Thanks! Another question, I was denied consideration for early action because my school report and counselor recommendation weren’t received on time, I even asked and they said it was because my school report wasn’t received until november 17th, which is what it said on my Wolverine Access portal, but on https://umich.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2027/~/received-date-on-new-%26-prospective-student-business-portal it says the received date isn’t the day they ACTUALLY got it. Under what circumstances do they grant early action exceptions?
Our regional AO said that they normally take AT MOST a week to update wolverine access, so unfortunately it is likely that they were sent in late and therefore it’s unlikely you would be able to have and exception.
@c011e9e That’s what I thought, thank you!
One LAST question, on this link http://www.engin.umich.edu/college/admissions/faqs/admissions/general-first-year/how-long-does-it-take-to-receive-a-decision-on-an-application it says it takes roughly 8 weeks for them to make a decision on your application ONCE they receive all of your application materials. So since all of my materials were submitted by mid november but am now in the regular decision pool, does this mean I could expect to hear far earlier than april?
@cguzmanmv my best guess is that it takes them 8 weeks to reach a decision, but that doesn’t mean you’ll hear it till april… that link still says you’ll hear by early april. I feel like it would specify if what you’re saying is true…
@cguzmanmv I agree with @fossilfriend .
Michigan does not operate on a rolling admissions/decisions basis. They release they’re decision based on certain dates so all RD applicants will hear at the same time
I applied to both MSU and Wayne state and i feel the same way as you. However I applied for College of Natural Science,major neuroscience!
@cguzmanmv - if you submitted your UM app through common app - did you check what date and time CA shows the school report and recommendation as “downloaded”?
Will Umich send out an email confirming the decision release date or will we just have to wait? Sorry if this has already been answered, I am new to the thread.
