I think bottom line - most of the audition based summer programs will give you a great experience - last summer my D attended BTP - in her first phone call she declared it “Life Changing” - the faculty was stellar, and she had a great experience. One of the best things about attending a summer program (outside of the training, and getting the feeling for the intensity of her chosen path) were all the friendly faces at Unifieds. So many BTP friends - including her roommate - to meet up with. I do recommend that you audition for a few different summer programs you would be happy with - because with any audition based anything - nothing is guaranteed. We only auditioned for one the summer before her Junior year - and ended up disappointed, with no program to attend. Before her Senior year - we auditioned for 4, and had choices! Another advantage to doing summer program auditions via video - we felt much more prepared when creating the pre-screens.

My D had a blast and worked her butt off at Syracuse’s summer MT program. Great training there! And a later application deadline than most, as I recall, because we were slow out of the gate looking into such things last year. BoCo’s deadline is later than many as well, for anyone still considering something for this summer.

kategrizz I can’t agree with you more! We applied to Mpulse, Oklahoma and TPAP – preparing those videos was much more of a challenge than I knew, mixing the videos per each instruction, number of bars, intro, no intro, statement not statement. It was a wonderful prep for 2 years from now with prescreens.

Absolutely agree with Kate and Laura. The videos were a great trial run for prescreens.

I know a student who took a class with Mr. Wagner and didn’t like him. It’s a long 3 weeks if you don’t like him, without your cell phone. At least NYC is fun. I think you should choose this based on cost and where you’d want to be for the summer. Sounds like both will give you great training.
