Do you guys know if interviews are still going on?
My interview is tomorrow, and I know a girl who is scheduled to interview on March 11th!
@dianaare u instate? Also can u plz post stats? Thanks. Or u can pm me…
hey all, I got an email inviting me to the interview process nextweek, which I found kind of abnormal. does anyone have any insight into this? any interview tips?
Hi guys,
I am a junior currently and I am also instate. I have a cumulative GPA of 3.98/5 and a ACT score of 35. The only reason why my GPA is so low is because I messed up freshman year on honors geometry. Also, I have done a lot of extracurriculars like volunteering(80+hrs), shadowing, health fairs, scholar programs and research in the summer. I am very involved in school and have won awards. I play tennis(Varsity and have also won many awards), am in NHS, mu alpha theta, beta chi pi, student council, debate, etc. I also hold three leader ship positions. What do you guys think my chances are? Please help me out her Thanks a lot
@123 no one knows your chances. But your ACT score is very good, so I’d say relatively good. I’m not sure about the 5 point gpa scale but a 3.98 looks pretty bad
What’s your unweighted gpa? And don’t sweat to much your stats look fine.
@123bruno Your ACT is excellent, your GPA could use some work so try hard to increase it as much as possible. Your extracurricular activities seem good. I would recommend getting more volunteer hours logged (preferably at a health care center). Also, I’ve noticed that many of the applicants that have been accepted to this program (myself included) have had 1 “unique” medical/health-related experience. Examples are: Volunteering in a Medical Mission trip abroad, CNA or EMT certification, Volunteering at an assisted care facility for physically or mentally disabled adults, etc… Though this isn’t necessary to get accepted, I would highly recommend it because it REALLY sets you apart from all the other people that have the typical hospital volunteer hours and shadowing.
@123bruno One other piece of advice that comes to mind: leadership positions in student organizations (stuco, honor council, student ambassadors, etc…) are more of a benefit to your application than leadership positions in clubs. This is because clubs are many times very informal and it’s hard to judge how much being president of a club really showcased your leadership. Clubs are still important, but less so than organizations when it comes to acquiring leadership roles.
The wait is so longggg. I just wish I got in already lol

@Southsenior12 Are you a Freshman in College now? did you get a rejection email and then got a interview request just this week? or Nothing and then surprise… an interview request?
@drfoxxy, yeah, I’m a freshman in college. I didn’t get anything at all until I got an interview request this week. I had called in january and february and they said they were still still evaluating applications…
@southsenior12 @DianaWynneJones @desigirl23 were your interviews?
It is hard to wait theses last 2 weeks!
@DianaWynneJones I think we may have met during our interviews… Did you talk to my mom? I was the tall dark blond guy with a blue shirt and tie on from Lees Summit.
I don’t think we met lol but hopefully we can meet next year!!!
Hey everyone! Im new to this site but I stumbled across it when I was just browsing the six year med program. I fell in love with this program because of the hands-on experience you get at such a young age. This was critical for me as I am a hands-on learner. Anyways, I applied and got an interview, thank God and now I am just waiting!!! Has anyone heard anything yet and are you guys as nervous as I am?!?!?! I keep having these horrible dreams of being rejected or failing the Toledo exam!
I’m just as nervous
RIGHT! And I don’t even know what to do to calm down. I guess that we’ll just have to wait and hope that everything goes well! Good luck to everyone. However, I do have one question: has anyone changed their mind about the program?
