UMKC 6-year BS/MD Program

My friend got an interview. In-state.

Any other news on interviews? I was expecting to see more posts

I got OOS interview

My son got an interview, OOS, but he applied before October 15.

Does anyone know how many OOS people got interviews? I haven’t heard of too many OOS people getting interviews besides IMGDAD and silverwind. I assumed there’d be a lot more.

I’m sure there are more who haven’t posted on this forum

I am just curious to know how many out of state people are getting interviewed. I’m guessing its around a 100.

I submitted my essay by Mid-Jan and am stil lwiating to hear back from them !!!

Does anyone know about the 8 yr. program, but it looks like you need to do MCAT. Also does anyone know what is the percentage that makes it to the medical program after joining the 8-yr program. Iam OOS

@MayuMo

I don’t think UMKC has an 8 year program. Are you talking about University of Missouri-Columbia’s 4+4?

@IMGDAD @silverwind @PursuittoExcel what date are you all interviewing? It’d be cool to meet one another!

@shimmeringaway

I interview the 24th! Will you be there?

My son will be there on the 24th.

Aw, I’ll be there on the 26th. Anyway, best of luck!

Interviewees, where are your interviews? Are they on Volker Campus or on Hospital Hill. Either way, you’ll probably end up visiting both.

Normally the School of Medicine sets up some good rates at preselected hotels. If not, I recommend the Holiday Inn on the Plaza. Pretty nice: 2 minute drive to Volker, 10 minute drive to the Hill. Let me know if you have any logistic or interview questions.

Best of luck, all.

Also, @MayuMo
There is no 8 year program at UMKC. There is a 7 year for in-state kids, though. There is an MD-only program for those who have completed a traditional undergraduate program, but that is not guaranteed.

@southsenior12

My interview will be at the Volker Campus. We were told to arrive at the student union between 7:15 and 7:45

My son told me that once accepted into the program, a student only needs a Science GPA of 2.8 to stay in the program. Is that really the case?

@huskerstk
seems like it’ll be like last year. best of luck!

@IMGDAD
yep. 2.8 science and cumulative.

@southsenior12, by the way, is there any program for the parents on interview day, or do parents just drop their kids in the morning and collect them in the afternoon?
