UMKC 6-year BS/MD Program

Congratulations to the UMKC Med Class of 2017, who are finding out where they matched for residency today. If you want to watch, you can go here and click on the streaming video link at around 10:45 AM Central Standard Time: http://med.umkc.edu/event/match-day-2017/

You can see UMKC School of Medicine’s match list for 2017 here: http://med.umkc.edu/sa/match-day-2017/

As was done last year for 2016, I’ll wait a little bit for updates to that class match list before analyzing it as I did last year for the 2016 match list: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/discussion/comment/19480193#Comment_19480193 (3 parts)

Decisions are coming this week?

@sampil I was also wondering if they were coming this week. I hope!

@sampil I was told they are going to be released later in the week or early next week!

@cellomello thanks

I realize interviews are over and everyone is walking on eggshells waiting to hear back but for those of you who will be applying or reapplying, one of the books on @Roentgen 's list and one that I used when I was applying (Multiple Mini Interview for the Mind) is being raffled away for free on studentdoctor during their admissions prep book.

https://■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■/threads/sdn-admissions-prep-week-raffle-free-advisor-prep%C2%AE-multiple-mini-interview-for-the-mind-book.1246539/

Might come in handy for those of you thinking ahead and good luck to all those who are waiting!

@Roentgen Do they email the results or mail

@rsmith0208, it’s sent electronically by email: http://med.umkc.edu/bamd/timeline/

On the website it says that decisions will come out April 1st but I heard that they might be coming out this week. fingers crossed

For some reason, I have it marked as this Friday, March 24 on my calendar. I’m not sure where I got that, but it must have been semi-official. I think it should be by this Friday, if not early next week. I think that website page that claims April 1st is just a general suggestion and hasn’t been updated in a while.

@ffffxxors, in past application cycles, people have found out about a week before the official national date that all colleges/universities have to give decisions by, which is April 1.

During the interview day some woman gave a presentation and said it would come out during the afternoon of either the 23rd or 24th. I can’t remember the exact day.

I remember them saying 23rd.

Yes I remember - 23rd evening - couple of more hours!

Best of luck to all of you out there

I thought they said 3/24 ( Fri).

That’s what I heard too. 24th eve. Good luck everyone!

Nothing yet. Looks like will be tomorrow.

Hey guys, so I know there is some freakout as to whether it’s today, tomorrow, or on Monday.

As mentioned before, based on previous application cycles, people usually have found out (based on posts on this thread) about a week before that official April 1st date that institutions have to notify applicants by, which is kind of nice as you get some more time to sit at the dinner table and evaluate the program thoroughly with family – finances, curriculum, etc. Last year in 2016, people found out on 3/23, based on posts on the thread, so it may be a day or two off (not including the weekend) in 2017, since the 23rd is closer to the weekend. So just CALM DOWN and RELAX, & no need to freak out about getting a response as it will be quick when the button is pushed, so to speak, and the emails go out. As mentioned many times before, this is very much an ALTERNATIVE route and not THE route of going to med school.

The med school admissions staff really does take great efforts to make sure everything is correct and is doublechecked esp. because decisions are done now electronically through email and everyone will find out on the same day. Applicants then will have about a month to decide either to accept or reject the offer before they go to the waitlist if necessary (again separated by pool), to fill those seats for those who end up rejecting the offer.
