And it’s too late to drop. But there’s still a projet in front of me and a final. And I’ve done really badly, on a test today there was one equation that didn’t show up on the homework much so I didn’t put it on our allowed “cheat sheet” but it was on ever problem :(. Strangely enough I’m doing realy well in all my other classes but I’m actually gonna fail this one. How bad is it to not commit time to a group project when you fail either way?
Don’t you feel any responsibility to your other group project members?
It’d be bad. Either commit yourself to the group project and put forth the effort or notify your group members and you professor that you won’t be participating and forfeit your project grade.
You really should do your best on the group project.
But…if you decide to go a different route, please, please, please, tell your team you are going to fail the class and are giving up. Whatever you do - DO NOT allow them to think in any way for even a second that you are going to do any work.
The worst think you can do is lead them on and then do a half a** job or bag the work altogether. Let them know you are bailing now, so they can make up for your share of the work. They may get pissed, but not as pissed as they would be if they figured out you were bailing on them after they couldn’t do anything about it.
Is the answer not obvious? Just let your fellow group members know before you p%$$ all over them. Good luck trying to make that fly in the work force.
I had a class with a project and one of our members had to drop the class and quit the team. It’s no big deal as long as you give notice to the other group members. Let’s face it, if you are struggling in the class I don’t think your contribution would have been that great anyway. Just don’t decide to work on it and half-ass your part and force the other group members to redo your work (had this happen to me when I was in a group before).
