*My high school is ranked 9th in North Carolina, so academics are significantly tougher
*Keep in mind that I am IN STATE, so chances are probably much higher for me.

Please give me any advice about applying and how my chances of getting in are as of now.

I’m also an in-state student applying to Chapel Hill this fall! Anyways, Carolina looks at applications holistically and they don’t actually pay attention to GPA. But, your SAT scores are above average for Carolina. However, they’re JUST above average. I would aim for a 2100 or higher to ensure admission into UNC. Your EC’s look pretty good but I would still try as hard as you can this current semester to show UNC’s admissions office an upward trend in grades. Good luck! Out of curiosity, are you a wake county student?

@agc1998‌ Thanks! I’m taking the SAT one more time to hit that 2100 mark and also am taking a shot at the ACT to see if I can do better on that. And I’m a Cabarrus county student

I’d say you have a great chance at either school. You’ll probably get in to both, so you’ll really just need to figure out which one fits your needs best. UNC is more popular, but NCState has more for STEM majors (if that’s your area). Research both of them extensively and see which one has the program that “speaks to you” most.
