Hi I am an out-of-stater applying to chapel hill. I have a 94 GPA (out of 100), taken 4 AP classes and gotten 4s on the AP exams, I am very involved in all types of clubs, play varsity sports, and both my dad and grandma (same side of family) went there so I'm a legacy. I got a 1980 on my SATs. How are my acceptance chances looking?

honestly, unc oos is a reach for most people because it is a state school. I know people with 4.1 gpa and 2200 on SAT that got rejected this year from a good private school. legacy may have an impact, but I’m not sure how heavily that is weighed there. If you really want to go there, I’d find an alumni your parents know that means something there to vouch for you. Good luck!

Thanks, my dads cousin went there as well as his daughters. He lives in chapel hill still and I think gives a lotta dough so maybe that’ll help…
