UNC Chapel Hill Early Action Fall 2023

I got into the global launch program… does that mean I wasn’t accepted onto the actual main campus?

rejected. OOS (NJ).
1530 SAT. 4.6 weighterd GPA (about 4.0 UW). captain varsity soccer and pres of some clubs but no hook or earth-shattering EC. political scince was intended major so nothing uber-competitive.

kinda disappointed. though UNC essays were pretty good.

It means that you were accepted to study abroad first semester of your freshman year with other freshmen through that program, and will move to Chapel Hill in January 2024.

I know in the end it was our fault for not doing research as an OOS family before this $85 application. However, UNC Chapel-Hill could make it more publicly known that they only accept 8% of all OOS applicants. Accepting at a 43% rate for in-state and then treating OOS applicants as though they were applying to an IVY League school is lame.

They typically take very few.

Many state schools are very similar with instate admission being drastically easier than OOS.

Sorry for the reject and I hope you have great success elsewhere!
