Recs: Should be great

Thank you for reading this, please give me your honest opinion and any other advice!

If you’re in state, you’re set. When I say set, I mean really set. If you’re out of state, I still believe you have a great chance of getting in, but you may have to raise your SAT score just a little bit. Out of state admission is extremely competitive. Your ECs are really good. You honestly have nothing to worry about.

You should be a shoe in instate

Yes, I am in-state. Would it look bad if I didn’t do track senior year? I don’t enjoy it as much as I used to.

Bump

BUMP

Nobody knew that the June 6th SAT will be upsetting.

Should I take the SAT again in October? The EA deadline is October 15, so would the scores even come back in time?

Just see what you got!

The scores came out on the 25th. This thread was posted after I got my scores; my score is updated.

I think you are good for CH, great class rank and GPA and scores are fine. I would apply early.

If it’s your top choice instate or otherwise, go with EA.

You’re probably good at this point; if I were you, I’d go with AP Physics (assuming it’s AP Physics 1 or 2) as you don’t have physics yet on your transcript. In addition, I’d take the ACT in September and see how you do as some test better on one than the other; if your scores aren’t close (ie 31-32 on ACT converts roughly to your SAT score) then don’t send the ACT.

As for track, if you don’t like it then don’t stick with it. Don’t stick with a fourth year if the only reason is because “it’ll look good for colleges” because they see right through that.

Good luck!

I don’t do anything unless I like it, so I wouldn’t do track just because it “looks good for colleges”. I just know that I am going to be very busy senior year between clubs, classes, and apps. Track is promptly after school and takes up a large portion of my night, especially when we have meets.

You’ll be fine, imo. UNC has a preference in admitting in-state students because it is a state school.

bump

Yeah, you’re absolutely going to get in knock on wood. I am also applying in-state and my GPA/class rank is not nearly as good as your’s so I’m kinda nervous. Are you a wake county student?

Thanks @agc1998 I don’t think you should worry. I know they have holistic admissions so if your GPA shouldn’t hold you back. I’m nervous about the essays as I am not used to writing about myself. And no I am farther away from UNC

In state acceptance rate is around 50% and you have a great resume. UNC is probably a match for you. If it is your top school go ahead and apply early. if not, try for some other top tier schools, you might be a reach for some.

Yes I am applying EA

Also, does anyone know if I would have a chance at UVA out of state?
