Teacher Rec:I had my AP English teacher write me one, I would say 10/10 (I got student of the year from her and she is my senior project advisor this year as well)
I am struggling to wait until decisions come out, if anyone could calm my fears or help me anticipate the decision I would greatly appreciate it
**note: There was an error on my resume but I had them fix it (2017 instead of 2016) and the correct info is on all my other documents, such as my transcript. I keep freaking out because I worry this will make me get denied
You have an excellent chance of getting! Don’t worry, your academics are strong, as well as your SAT score (above 2000 is good for Chapel-Hill), as well as your extracurriculars. Good Luck!
There is no way that an SAT score of 2016 v 2017 will make even the tiniest difference in the admission decision.
You have done everything you can do. It will happen or it won’t. I am sure that you already know where you fall in terms of admitted student students. You are feeling the same anxiety as most of the other 30K students who applied. Sit tight.
An sat score of 2017 is not possible, I was referring to my graduation year. I assume that the admissions committee realized that 2017 was a typo and saw the correct year on all my other stuff. Still, that error is my worry.
You will get in no doubt in my mind. Stop worrying about it, in my opinion you are well above the instate credentials. You may be a toss up candidate if you were out of state, but in state you have nothing to worry about. So enjoy the New Year and don’t stress. UNC is my dream school to and trust me I’m much less qualified than you.
The most recent admitted student stats for UNC-CH are:
77% top 10% of high-school class, same as you
SAT 25th-75th percentiles (Middle 50 percent)
—SAT Critical Reading 600-710, versus your 660
—SAT Math 620-720, versus your 690
—SAT Writing 590-700, versus your 730
If you are smart enough to get those numbers you are smart enough to know where that puts you.
You are feeling the same anxiety as most of the other 30K students who applied. You have done everything you can do. It will happen or it won’t.
There is nobody on CC who can tell you more than you already know. Nobody. So stop feeding your anxiety and looking for strangers on the internet to tell you that it’s all going to be ok. Go out, engage in all your activities and distract yourself until April.
You have an excellent chance of getting in (and I don’t even know if you are in state or oos)! GL and please come back and let us know how it turns out. I am a UNC alum and mom to a 10th grader, so I’d love to know how things turn out for you.
