One can never be certain about predictions, and UNC can only accept a limited number of OOS students, but you are in the range of accepted students and should give it a try. Consider why you are interested in UNC and reflect your interests in your application essays. If you wish to continue your Jewish group activities, UNC also has an active Hillel and I think the Chabad rabbi shares his presence at both UNC and Duke. UNC Has a Jewish studies department as well, with modern Hebrew as a language option.

Because UNC does not accept a large number of applicants, also be sure to have other colleges where acceptance is likely on your list. You seem to be a strong student and will have several options to consider.

I’m really not sure about out of state, but I know someone who got in in state with a 1900.
You seem like a strong student, though.

UNC-CH is very tough for out-of-state applicants; comparisons with accepted students from within NC are meaningless. It was my son’s first choice this year, although he knew it was a reach. His stats were slightly lower than the OP’s, and he was rejected. I’d say it’s worth a try, if you love it, but don’t go by the aggregate statistics in judging your prospects. They have a statutory mandate to admit 82% of each freshman class from within NC, and the numbers simply aren’t very promising for non-residents. Good luck. You should qualify for a decent scholarship from Tulane or Wake Forest, if southern colleges appeal to you.
