Am I the only parent that is wondering where the actual acceptance letter is in the mail? It’s been a week, long enough for the US mail to deliver a simple letter. I’m certain that many of these students are feeling the love from other top schools. This doesn’t look good.
Wondering when the acceptance letter will be delivered to an OOSer. Also, are excel @ carolina notifications still being released or has that ship sailed?
@Dcunited7891 Same here. OOS. He’s checking email every day, but he’s calling on Monday. Surely it’s not intentional for everyone who is NOT selected for EXCEL to call and ask??? What am I missing? Just post it on your portal for goodness sake. I’m an alum and a little embarrassed at the inefficiencies.
@caramelchic I got accepted as a pharmacy major as well and had the same question. I emailed the pharmacy school directly and they told me that Assured Admissions decisions will be released early next week (whether it’s by email or regular mail I do not know).
Has anyone received a piece of mail? In your mailbox?
When my son was accepted he did not get the acceptance in the mail for a few-weeks. We were checking every day too The school shut down early today due to a water main break. Not sure if the school will be open on Monday, FYI.
Thank you @Nurse001 I saw that on my newsfeed today. I’m afraid the longer the wait, the less he’s interested. It just doesn’t make sense why they can’t get something in the mail the following week after decisions. These kids really work hard on their part and it seems one-sided at UNC. Just my 2 cents. And I get it.
@snorkelmom Your welcome. As I remember the letter was short and sweet. It was pretty much the acceptance letter that was-online. Unless your waiting for a scholarship it wont have any financial information in it. They did send us a sticker. I was excited about that
While it’s understandable that we’re all desperate to know the details, the reality is that the deadline to make a decision is still nearly three months away. That said, it is frustrating to read posts from those who have heard about honors or preferred admission which, while great for them (congrats!) also suggests to those of us who haven’t heard anything that we may have been rejected. Perhaps when the hard copy acceptance arrives all will be revealed!
No letter here in IS so they have not been mailed out. I’d actually forgotten we should be expecting a letter. I believe they had said they would be mailing the excel @ carolina, direct admissions, etc with those letters which is what could be the delay.
I’m also confused as to why some have heard about the assured admission and others haven’t and agree with the poster that said his/her student is losing interest. That can happen. My older daughter got in to Michigan a few years back and didn’t find out she got direct admit to Ross School of Business until 4/17, which is insanely late. I guess they were waiting to see if they had room for her, but it still was a turn off and at that point she had already decided on another school and was not turning back. We obviously have more time than that, but it still is frustrating. I’m sure they have good reasons, however.
@collegemomjam The Assured Admission programs that involve a separate graduate school (Kenan-Flagler for business and Eshelman for pharmacy) vary in response time because they are handled by the graduate schools themselves, not the undergraduate admissions office. From what I can gather, the business Assured Admission invitations have already been sent out. The pharmacy school is sending theirs out next week.
HEY!! Did anyone get accepted to the school of nursing?? If so, can you please share your stats (oos or in state)? I applied regular decision oos and kind of want to gauge my chances. You barely hear about nursing for almost any of the top schools on CC
@hungryanddriven I think I saw a lot of nursing stats on the Georgetown thread…even if you didn’t apply there, it might give you an idea of what stats the top nursing schools are looking for. Good luck!!
@collegemomjam Thanks!! I actually did apply to Georgetown so I’ll be sure to check it out. Do you happen to have a link to the thread?
UNC Posted on Twitter last week: Merit scholarships & special programs (@HonorsCarolina, Excel@Carolina, etc.) are still rolling out over the next few weeks! Congrats again
For assured admission into kenan flagler, are you still enrolled in the college of arts and sciences first? then how does your assured admission status play a role then
For those looking for the Carolina acceptance packet in the mail, my S received his acceptance packet today and another piece of mail from Carolina as well. They are postmarked 2/3, and we live IS.
Same here. packet arrived today postmarked 2/3. The letters inside are dated 1/27, 1/27 and 1/31. The 1/31 is the general acceptance letter.
