UNC Kenan Flagler vs. UVA McIntire

Hi CC,

Does UVA’s McIntire undergrad B school offer significantly better job recruiting for finance versus UNC’s Kenan Flagler undergrad B school? Is it worth it in the long run and does it pay off to attend OOS UVA (~45-50k yearly) versus IS UNC (~25k yearly)? Is UVA much more of a “target” school? I am interested in maximizing my changes at getting a job in private equity right out of college, if possible, but am also interested in i-banking. Thanks!

I’d go to UNC in-state. To give you some sense of the minuscule difference between the two, in USNWR UVa is ranked #6, and UNC is ranked #7 for undergraduate business. Definitely not worth the $100k difference over 4 years.

Would take you YEARS to make up the delta in tuition. Do your best at UNC and you’ll be in good shape for a career!
