So, i got waitlisted from UNC chapel hill in RD. I was set on going to nyu then i found out i got off the waitlist. So i want to go into Pre med. Im looking for mostly which one is best for pre-med, which college boasts the highest acceptance rate to medical school, and which school is harder to do well in. Also, i would prefer a non-cut-throat atmosphere. Money is not a problem a long with the campus. Academic is priority! Thanks in advanced.

If you go to the pre med forums you’ll see many threads about this topic.

The general consensus is not to worry about acceptance rates because the data sets are flawed and not truly comparable between schools. The thing most agree on is to choose the school where you think you fit in best and will be happiest overall because those two things have the greatest impact on undergrad academic success.

UNC is not cut throat at all and in fact has a very cooperative environment.

The question is do you want to live in lower Mahattan in high rise buildings with no campus and no traditional undergrad experience or do you want to live in what may be the best college town in the US and have a great undergrad experience? UNC is smaller, has a higher ranking and prepares its students well for grad and professional schools.

This should be a “no brainer.”
