<p>Every day my hatred for Duke grows. It wasn't always like this!! I don't walk around looking for current and upcoming Duke students to make offensive and moronic statements, it just happens!</p>

<p>Not to burst your bubble, but the Duke-UNC rivalry thing is only skin-deep. Almost all students recognize that Duke is a great school, and I'd imagine most Duke students feel likewise about UNC. There are a number of joint-school programs, classes, organizations and the like that unite the two universities. The only place where there is true animosity is on the basketball court, something I hardly pay attention to anyways.</p>

<p>While Lane is right, the rivalry is more than skin deep. Students still have stereotypes of Duke kids as nerdy kids from New Jersey who know nothing about the real world and live off Daddy's bank account.</p>

<p>the rivalry is so funny, my sister went to md, my boss went to duke, his wife went to nc state and I'm going to UNC...we can't even talk about basketball! most tar heels will admit though that duke is just like an evil twin, nc state is a retarded younger brother, and MD's real rivalry is Duke.</p>

<p>Duke-UNC rivalry is probably the biggest rivalry in college sports (similar to Michigan-Ohio State).</p>

<p>I'm a Duke fan, but I will be going to UNC. This isn't cause I couldn't get into Duke...I had a pretty good chance (not guaranteed chance though lol), but rather its because Duke doesn't have an undergrad business school. Also, I liked Carolina's campus better.</p>

<p>Anyway, the transition is going to be kinda tough lol</p>

<p>I don't think I own any Carolina gear, but that will have to change soon</p>

Yeah, but the sad thing is Duke couldn't care less about Maryland. It's a one-sided rivalry. :rolleyes: </p>
