UNC Transfer Fall 2020

When is says we can create our ONYEN on April 8th, does that mean midnight you think? I’m trying to register ASAP and adjust later if needed.

I was able to make an ONYEN the day I was accepted. Registration for transfers is a little rough. Many classes end up being full or close to full since transfers are one of the last groups to register for classes. After this first semester though, your registration date depends on how many credits you have (class standing) which helps.

@reidtw I was waiting to see what your decision was! We have pretty similar stats. I don’t think the b school really took any transfers this year. I think the number of spots open was extremely limited (~50). The only people I’ve heard that got in who applied business are juniors who checked the box that said it’s okay to be considered for admission to the college of arts and sciences too. It seems as if the only people admitted were to the college of arts and sciences.

We tried the best we could but it gives me some comfort to know that basically nobody got into the business program. It just wasn’t meant for us. Good luck at Syracuse and hey maybe you’ll apply to UNC for your masters! (At least that’s my plan)

Accepted!
OOS from Elon University
So hype

If anyone else got waitlisted would you mind posting ur stats? Also someone said they announced they took 1200 transfer applicants where was that data from? I’m hoping to see if they also released the number of transfer students they waitlisted.

They posted that they took over 1200 transfer applicants on their twitter and instagram page.

For the ones who are CS majors does it specifically say you got into the computer science program or does it say college of arts and sciences?

Quick question if anyone knows the answer. I was rejected instate from UNC but I just now noticed that my NC residency number expires on the 29th of this month and i’m not sure if that negatively impacted my decision for being considered for instate?

@Starfoxx87 I don’t believe so, you were considered in-state at time of application. They would have asked for you to renew your number for tuition purposes if you were accepted. Either way, UNC tends to accept a higher percentage of OOS transfer students compared to OOS first-years. I know quite a few OOS transfers.

does unc send any congrats packets? or like welcome packets? thanks

they have in the past. I got one last year so I assume I will get one this year too. It’s really nice, its a blue kind of foldable that says “Hello, Tar Heel” and “welcome to carolina”. It came a week or 2 after I was accepted so I would assume that will be the case this year as well.

@unc2023hopeful - ah oh… this might be a good time to send them a “HEY I MOVED IN THE LAST MONTH” yikes - thanks for that info!

@mraustinatwork Just says College of Arts and Sciences for me

ONYEN is live. Any idea when we will be able to use Sakai?

Your Sakai page is only for coursework. It won’t be populated with any real useful info until about a week before your classes start.

Does anyone know if there is a Facebook page for transfers yet? Also, if anyone is looking for a roommate add me on Snapchat cole_sifford

@Mcunn226 So we don’t need to access Sakai before we can register?

Correct: Registration, finances, all that administrative sort of stuff happens in Connect Carolina (which works best if you’re incognito mode). You’ll need your ONYEN.

@mcunn226 I just looked at the registration calendar https://registrar.unc.edu/events/category/university-registrars-calendars/fall-2020/
I’m assuming incoming transfer students are “0 terms in residence”? So we can’t register until the 17th?

Thanks @chinaman . We might cross paths!
