I can't decide. So far I have been accepted to UNC Chapel Hill, Vanderbilt, and the University of Alabama. I dont have my financial packages for the first two yet. They should each cost me about $28k after all is said and done. However, I have a full ride to UA. I am also in the university and international honors programs with honors housing. It seems like a sweet deal, but I dont know if its worth the money saved. I want to major in business/econ and spanish. I have visited Vanderbilt, and loved it. UNC is pretty nice, I need to visit again. I have not been to Bama, but should be going soon.

Also, I applied to UVA (now the #1 undergrad business school). Assuming I get accepted, would this be the best option?

So, enjoy a $100,000 scholarship or spend $120,000 for a more prestigious school

what? I am a little confused. No, we are not dripping with money. Money does play a big issue. They say that I should go where I want, they can make it work. But I know it will affect them, at least for the time being, pretty severely. But, if i go to Bama, they will finance my MBA down the road. and i guess in business that is all that really matters…

I’d go to Vanderbilt in ur situation. It’s much more prestigious and I hear its a great, fun place to go. They’d definitely give u money if ur parent’s got pretty badly affected by the economy. Also, they’ve just instituted a no-loans policy. Check it out:

tpl i know about vandy’s fa. but even so, with our efc, its gonna be ~25k a year, regardless of where I go. Unless of course I choose University of Alabama with a $94k package (tuition, room, board, stipend, laptop, study abroad money). Anybody else?

I’d definitely go with Bama with that scholarship. It’s a great up and coming school and has much better football than the others. Plus, in business, the MBA is what matters most so if you go to Bama, just make sure youi get good grades. Are you instate at Alabama?

As a citizen of Alabama, I say go to UA. It’s a good school, and where you get your MBA is what really matters. If you go to UA and kick some tail, you’d have money left over to go to UPenn or Berkeley or something for your MBA.

In short Bama is more fun, but VU is far better education and is a good time too. Vandy had kids from all over the country, where Bama kids will be almost all southern and very traditional.
