Do you need to go to a city to enjoy life--No. But Chicago has some things AA or Madison for that matter just don't have. It's nice to get away once in a while too.

Who has the time to get away? I mean, shouldn't you be too pre-occupied with your academics or extra-curriculars? You must have way too much time on your hands.

^Lots of people have time to get away. Most college students do road trip out to other cities and schools at least once and awhile.

Yes, roadtrips are part of the complete college experience. From Madison you could go to Chicago Friday and come back Sunday afternoon with plenty of time to study.

I will say this, Chapel Hill is an amazing college town. Don't know what Ann Arbor is like--but I can figure its cold a lot. Not something I could deal with.

Used to do this from A2 too. Hopped on the train from the Amtrak station right in town. Although, getaways to other colleges to party with friends was much more fun. Didn't have the $$ as a student to afford Chicago's expensive fun all too often.
