@sassgirl @FutureActress7 yeah you can apply for both but they don’t allow dual majors there they won’t even let me take a drama class to assist in my character animation development
Really, @aidenpng? I realize the dual majors would not work as it is a BFA program, but I know my D will be able to take 12 credit hours of arts electives (outside her concentration).
@OrangeFish When I interviewed I asked current students and faculty if I could take music theory, basic acting, and other classes outside of film. They said most likely not. Electives outside of concentration usually include classes that aren’t arts related at all (they have cooking, art history, humanities, etc) or are within your school but not your concentration (screenwriting, editing, film history, etc). That’s what was communicated to me at least
Thanks so much for those details, @aidenpng – this helps us ask more questions during our upcoming visit. We were told Arts Elective credits could be any course offered through the School of D&P or School of Filmmaking. I am guessing this differs by major.

Is anyone still waiting to hear from November? I am a nervous wreck.
@shashab9 – have you checked the application status page?
@OrangeFish Yes, it doesn’t say anything if I was accepted or not.
@shashab9 You haven’t heard anything at all? :neutral: Or were you deferred?
Have you heard anything from them at all? My son interviewed in early February and we haven’t heard a thing. He has called and we are told different things. It feels like they have to be coming close to making decisions so students can plan.
They deferred me until the February interviews and then March 1st I got an email that I was still deferred and that I’d hear by the end of March. I thought I would hear today but I’m thinking maybe Monday?
Fingers crossed. I am hoping my son hears something today or Monday as well. Such a long process.
Yes! good luck! it is a very long process I feel like I’ve been waiting an eternity.
Hopefully we will all hear something next week. I spoke with Ms. Watson and Ms. Natalie Parker and they both said all decisions were going out next week. Ms. Parker specifically said March 29th, which is next Friday. It is such a long wait!
Yes! Good luck! it’s definitely a long process I feel like I’ve been waiting an eternity.
Not to mention, May 1 is the deadline for a lot of schools. It’s nice to have time to make a decision, weigh options, etc.
@mom2filmstudent I totally agree!!
@FutureActress7 When did they give you that update?
@mom2filmstudent I called this past Monday and yesterday and that is what I was told, so hopefully it is true.
My son interviewed on 2/16 and received an offer of admission email today!
Congratulations to your son @Thecoolmom !
