My son’s counselor is having problems getting the Mandatory Info Forms uploaded to their website. They will not return multiple emails to the counselor, my son or myself. Considering we have already paid the application fee, I would expect some assistance for the counselor. We cannot upload it ourselves because she has attached a recommendation letter, which we waive the right to read. Disappointing. Considering abandoning our efforts there and pursuing other schools, also going to the bank to try and recover our money.
@remartin67 don’t give up. I’m sending you a PM
UNCSA is awesome.
I suggest contacting the Dept specifically vs general Admissions. Drama has a specific rep that works with all prospective students to ensure files are complete. That person was the key for us in terms of making sure all got where it needed to be. I would guess the other majors have such a person too.
I also found calling admissions to be good if you don’t have a specific person to contact via email (general email boxes always worry me).
Also- We had same issue with other schools last year.
U Arts was one. We submitted all digitally and were told a few times a form was Missing. We weren’t getting answers via email. I called and was told to have missing forms mailed as the uploading doesn’t always work. So we had the high school mail stuff and all was fine. Once I spoke to someone via phone we worked it out.
Another school (to remain unnamed) never told my D she was accepted (she was) but invited her to apply for a full tuition scholarship. She did and then They never told her she didn’t get it and I had to call to find out that info and also to find out what scholarship she did get (as they didn’t tell us that either). But, we still liked the BFA program even if the mailings didn’t seem To make it to us from the admin offices. Admissions offices won’t be dealt with for four years so I was forgiving as long as the BFA office and the academic offices appeared to have their stuff together.
In hindsight the small issue with the mandatory info form for UNCSA was relatively minor compared to some Other issues.
Anyway- good luck. Hope you get it worked out.
I second @bfahopeful 's suggestion of contacting the Drama rep–we had issues with the application upload process as well and the Drama rep (Bill Poole, I think?) was very helpful and responded quickly.
Call them - I had some similar issues last year and the admissions folks are very helpful over the phone. I wanted to know if certain things had been received and they looked them up while I waited. They are very friendly! Please don’t give up. My D is a student there now and just LOVES it!!
I printed it, included a stamped envelope and gave it to the guidance counselor who then mailed it to them.
I did finally get a response and all is well. Sounds like they have one person handling it all. But I’m told they don’t accept anything through the mail–has to be electronic.
We mailed ours last year. But the process may have changed
