UNCW v UNC

I have a full ride, honors, and fellows acceptance to UNCW but I know UNC is by far the better school academically and has the name recognition. I want to attend a top tier law school after college and am having a hard time deciding which school would better prepare me and give me the best chance of acceptance to a law school like UVA or Duke.

How much would UNC cost you? Is it within budget for your parents?

It would probably end up around 100k to go to UNC. If money wasn’t an issue, I would just go UNC. My parents can afford it, but then would not have any money to give me for law school, whereas if I went to UNCW my parents would have 100k to give me to pay for law school.

UNCW for undergrad, UNC-CH for law school

If you’re sure you’ll be going to law school, then you really to think whether you’d rather go to a more prestigious undergrad college then take on lots of debt or be limited financially for law school, OR attend a less prestigious college but be guaranteed to have your costs covered at whatever law school you get into. (Check with your parents that’s the deal: they’ll pay for the law school you get into.)
UNCW is FAR from a bad university, it’s #2 in the UNC system and its honors college is pretty good, but the location is hard to beat.
